In the Colarado Lounge Jack is at the CENTER of the maze, the minitaur at the center of the labryinth. When he gets pulled out of it, as Wendy will do again later in the movie when she draws Jack out of the lounge with the bat, it 'takes him time to get back' to where he was. As ULLMAN says about the maze 'I wouldn't go in there unless I had an hour to spare to find my way out.'

JACK Wendy, let me explain something to you. Whenever you come in here and interrupt me, you're breaking my concentration. you're distracting me, and it will then take me time to get back to where I was, understand?
WENDY Yes.
