SUMMER OF 42, released in 1971, plays on the television. In it a young boy is in love with a woman who's husband has gone missing in WW2. The night she finally receives news that her husband is dead she seduces the boy. When he wakes up in the morning in her bed she has left town for good - the closing monologue reveals he never sees her again. In this scene the older woman is trying to pay the young boy from her PURSE.
DOROTHY 'Please let me give you some money.'
HERMIE 'I wouldn't think of it.'
DOROTHY 'Well, how can I repay you?'
